'현 위의 노래 '

현의 동선이 그려낸 한 폭의 그림 올해 축제의 모티브인 현악기와 소리축제가 그동안 지향해 온 전통을 기반으로 한 기획 프로그램의 핵심이 '현 위의 노래' 속에 녹아든다.

올해 축제의 주제의식과 차별점을 가장 잘 압축해 놓은 프로그램으로 ‘현악기’, 여기에서 파생한 줄과 이음의 포괄적인 연상을 이 공연 속에 다채롭게 담아낸다. 특히 명인들의 전통 산조부터 동서양 현악기(가야금-첼로)의 이질적이면서도 독특한 만남, 그리고 아쟁·판소리와 함께 무대에 오를 줄타기 공연이 이채로운 그림을 만들어낸다.

아쟁 김영길, 판소리 최영인, 줄타기 박회승, 고수 조용안이 세대 간 호흡을 맞춰 눈과 귀가 즐거운 새로운 공연을 선보인다. 여기에 가야금 지성자 명인과 제자 10명, 첼리스트 김선경 씨 외 11명으로 구성된 아마티 첼로콰르텟이 호흡을 맞춰 산조와 바흐에 이르는 동서양 대표적 레퍼토리로 이색적인 하모니를 선사한다.

가야금과 거문고 연주자가 한 팀을 이룬 ‘달음’은 탈춤에서 영감을 받아 만든 곡 ‘탈(TAL)’을 연주한다. 마지막 무대는 판소리, 장구, 거문고, 대금, 피리, 아쟁 등 20여 명의 전통악기 연주자와 소리꾼이 출동해 현악기 중심의 전통즉흥 시나위로 피날레를 장식한다.

'Songs over the String' 

A Perfect Picture Depicted by the Line of String The stringed instruments which are the motif of the 2020 Sori Festival and the core of the planned program Sori Festival has pursued, based on traditional music, will melt into the program of ‘Songs over the Strings’. This program highlights both the theme of this year’s festival, and differences from the previous ones.

It expresses the uniqueness of the stringed instruments and the comprehensive association of strings and ‘Link’ so colorfully. In particular, master artists’ traditional sanjo, disparate but harmonious encounters of eastern and western stringed instruments like the cello and gayageum, and a tightrope feat accompanied by the ajaeng and Pansori will create an exciting stage.

Kim Yeonggil (Ajaeng), Choi Yeongin (Pansori), Park Hoiseung (Tightrope), and Jo Yongan (drummer) will present a new performance that will make the audience happiest keeping tune with each other overcoming the generation gaps. Further, Gayageum master Ji Seongja and her 10 students and Amati Cello Society with the leader Kim Seongyeong and 11 other cellists will present an exotic harmony with the top eastern and western repertoires including Korean 'Sanjo’ and Bach.

‘Dal:um’, a Gugak team that consists of a Gayageum and a Geomungo artist, plays ‘Tal’ composed by becoming inspired by 'Talchum’ (mask dance). The stage will close with an improvisational grand performance of Sinawi centering around the stringed instruments accompanied by 20 traditional artists of Pansori, Janggu, Geomungo, Daegeum, Piri, and Ajaeng.
