수요일 레바논 중앙은행 총재는 자신의 재임기간 중 거래와 투자에 대한 감사를 요청했으며 그 결과 공금 유용은 없었다고 밝혔다.

레바논의 금융 안정의 수호자로 칭송받았던 70세의 리아드 살라메는 2년 전 레바논의 경제 붕괴가 시작된 이후 조사를 받아왔다.

Lebanese central bank governor says corruption charges false

Lebanon’s central bank governor said Wednesday that he asked for an audit of transactions and investments during his tenure and the results showed no public money has been misused.

Riad Salameh, 70, once praised as the guardian of Lebanon’s financial stability, has drawn scrutiny since the small country’s economic meltdown began two years ago.
