그리스, 영국에 고대 조각품 반환 노력 재개

월요일 그리스 정부 관계자는 영국이 200여 년 전 아테네 아크로폴리스에 있는 파르테논 신전에서 떼어낸 고대 조각상들을 대영박물관에서 반환하기 위한 노력을 재개하고 있다고 말했다.

그리스 정부 대변인인 지아니스 오이코노무는 화요일 런던에서 보리스 존슨 영국 총리와 그리스 총리 키리아코스 미초타키스 사이에 예정된 회담에서 이 문제가 논의될 것이라고 기자들에게 말했다. 

Greece to renew pressure on UK to return ancient sculptures

Greece is renewing a bid to seek the return of ancient sculptures removed from the Parthenon at the Acropolis in Athens more than 200 years ago from the British Museum, a government official said Monday.

Giannis Oikonomou, a government spokesman, told reporters the issue would be raised at a scheduled meeting in London Tuesday between British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
