제2차 세계 대전 파일럿 유해 유럽에서 발견, 메인주에 안장 예정

미 국방부는 유럽 아드리아해에서 실종된 2차 대전 조종사 유해가 화요일 수습돼 고향 메인주에 안장될 예정이라고 밝혔다.

미 육군 공군 2중대 어니스트 엔 비에노의 유해는 지난 4월 확보됐으며 오는 10월 9일 고향 밀리노켓에 안장될 예정이라고 미 국방군 포로 미아 회계국은 밝혔다. 비엔노는 사망 당시 25세였다.

WWII pilot’s remains found in Europe, to be buried in Maine

The remains of a World War II pilot whose body was lost in Europe’s Adriatic Sea have been recovered and will be buried in his home state of Maine, the U.S. Department of Defense said Thursday.

The remains of U.S. Army Air Forces 2nd Lt. Ernest N. Vienneau were accounted for in April and will be buried in his hometown of Millinocket on Oct. 9, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency said. Vienneau was 25 at the time of his death.
