파키스탄, 카라치 근처 좌초된 배 인양 계획

파키스탄 당국은 지난 주 악천후 속에 남부 항구도시 카라치 인근 해안에서 좌초된 화물선을 인양할 계획을 세우고 있다고 월요일 밝혔다.

당국은 헝통 77호가 중국에서 이스탄불로 향하던 중 표류해 수요일 파키스탄 해안 인근 얕은 물에 빠졌다고 밝혔다. 이 사건으로 선박에 있던 기름이 유출돼 환경에 손상을 줄 수 있다는 우려가 제기됐다. 

Pakistan plans to refloat ship that ran aground near Karachi

Pakistani authorities said Monday they were working on plans to refloat a cargo ship that ran aground off the coast near the southern port city of Karachi last week amid bad weather.

The Heng Tong 77 was en route to Istanbul from China when it drifted and got stuck in shallow waters Wednesday near the coast in Pakistani territory, authorities said. The event raised fears the oil being transported in the vessel could spill, potentially damaging the environment.
