Warren Buffett resigns from Gates Foundation

Warren Buffett resigned Wednesday as trustee of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which says it will announce plans in July to answer questions raised about its leadership structure as it deals with the divorce of its two founders.

The announcement from Buffett comes weeks after Bill and Melinda Gates revealed that they were divorcing after 27 years of marriage but would continue to jointly run one of the largest charitable foundations in the world. Buffett was one of three members of the foundation’s board — the other two are Bill and Melinda Gates.

워렌 버핏, 게이츠 재단 사임

수요일 워렌 버핏은 빌 게이츠 재단의 수탁자직을 사임했다. 이 재단은 두 설립자의 이혼을 다루는 과정에서 제기된 경영지배 구조에 대한 질문의 답을 7월에 발표할 예정이라고 밝혔다.

버핏의 발표는 빌 게이츠와 멜린다 게이츠가 결혼 27년 만에 이혼을 했지만 세계에서 가장 큰 자선 재단 중 하나를 계속 공동으로 운영할 것이라고 밝힌 몇 주 후에 나온 것이다. 버핏은 이 재단의 세 이사 중 한 명이었다. 다른 두 명은 빌 게이츠와 멜린다 게이츠이다.
