China probes takeout firm Meituan over antitrust concerns

market regulator said Monday it has launched a probe into suspected monopolistic behavior by food delivery firm Meituan.

The investigation comes amid increased scrutiny of internet companies suspected of anti-competitive practices.

The State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement that it was looking into Meituan’s policies, including exclusivity arrangements known as “pick one of two.”

중국, 독점금지 관련 메이투안 조사 착수

중국 시장규제 당국은 식품 배달 회사인 메이투안의 독과점 행위에 대한 조사에 착수했다고 월요일 밝혔다.

이번 조사는 반경쟁적 관행으로 의심되는 인터넷 회사들에 대한 조사가 증가하고 있는 가운데 이뤄졌다.

시장규제청은 성명을 통해 '둘 중 하나를 골라라'로 알려진 메이투안의 정책을 조사하고 있다고 밝혔다.
