Hong Kong activist publisher Jimmy Lai denied bail again

Prominent Hong Kong democracy advocate and newspaper publisher Jimmy Lai was again denied bail on Thursday ahead of his April trial on charges of colluding with foreign forces.

Lai is one of several activists facing charges and possibly lengthy prison terms under the sweeping National Security Law that Beijing imposed on the semi-autonomous southern Chinese city last year following massive anti-government protests in 2019.

홍콩의 저명한 민주주의 옹호자이자 신문 편집자인 지미 라이가 외국군과 결탁한 혐의로 4월 재판을 앞두고 목요일 또다시 보석이 기각되었다.

라이는 중국 남부에 대규모 반정부 시위를 벌인 이후 국가보안법 위반의 혐의를 받고 장기 복역할 가능성이 있는 여러 활동가 중 한 명이다.
