German government cuts 2021 economic growth forecast to 3%

The German government on Wednesday cut its growth forecast for this year to 3% as Europe’s biggest economy faces persistent headwinds from the coronavirus pandemic.

In late October, the government had forecast growth of 4.4% this year. The country started a partial shutdown shortly afterward and deepened it in mid-December. That lockdown, Germany’s second, is still in place.

독일 정부, 2021년 경제성장률 전망치 3%로 축소

유럽 최대 경제대국 독일이 코로나 바이러스 대유행으로 인한 역풍을 맞으면서 독일 정부가 올해 성장률 전망치를 3%로 하향 조정했다.

지난 10월 말, 독일 정부는 올해 4.4%의 성장률을 예상했다. 그 직후 부분적인 봉쇄조치를 시작했고 12월 중순에 그것을 더욱 강화하였다. 독일의 두 번째 봉쇄조치는 여전히 유효하다.
