Lebanon signs with Pfizer for 2.1 million vaccine doses

Lebanon finalized a deal with Pfizer on Sunday for 2.1 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine amid surge in infections that has overwhelmed the country’s health care system.

The doses are to arrive in Lebanon starting early February, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.

The government’s statement said the Pfizer vaccines will be complemented with another 2.7 million doses from the U.N.-led program to provide for countries in need. It gave no date for when those doses are expected to arrive but said the agreement was signed in October.

레바논, 화이자와 210만 명분 백신 계약

레바논은 의료 시스템을 압도하는 감염이 급증하고 있는 가운데 일요일 화이자와 계약을 체결하여 210만 명분의 코로나 바이러스 백신을 확보하였다.

레바논 보건부에 따르면, 백신은 2월 초부터 레바논에 도착할 것이라고 하였다.

정부의 성명에 따르면 화이자 백신은 유엔 주도하에 약 270만 명분으로 보완되어 어려움에 처한 국가들에게 제공할 것이라고 말했다. 추가적인 백신이 언제 도착할지 날짜를 밝히지 않았지만 10월에 계약이 체결되었다고 밝혔다.
