일본, 탄소 배출량 목표 달성 위해 재생에너지 활성화

일본은 야심차게 탄소 배출 감축 목표를 달성하기 위해 향후 10년 동안 재생 에너지 사용을 대폭 늘리고 화석 연료 소비를 줄이는 것을 목표로 하는 새로운 에너지 계획 초안을 수요일 발표했다.

그러나 이 초안은 2011년 후쿠시마 원전 참사 이후 어려움을 겪고 있는 원자력 산업을 어떻게 할 것인지에 대해 당국자들이 여전히 결정을 내리지 못하고 있는 가운데 현재 원자력 에너지 목표치를 유지하고 있다.

Japan to boost renewable energy to meet emissions target

Japan aims to drastically increase its renewable energy use and reduce fossil fuel consumption over the next decade as its pushes to meet its ambitious emissions reduction target, according to a draft of a new energy plan presented Wednesday.

The draft, however, maintains the current target for nuclear energy as officials remain undecided over what to do with the nuclear industry, which has struggled since the 2011 Fukushima power plant disaster.
