네바다주, 신규 코로나 바이러스 확진자 급증

미국 네바다 주의 하루 평균 신종 코로나 바이러스 확진자와 입원자 수가 모두 2월 이후 최고 수준으로 치솟았다.

목요일 주 보건 당국자들은 더 많은 네바다 주민들에 대한 백신 접종을 하려는 노력이 개선되고 있는 조짐을 보고 있다고 말했다. 그러나 주 전체 주민의 절반 가까이가 아직 예방접종을 완전히 받지 못했으며, 현재 추세라면 주 전체의 70% 목표에 도달하는 데는 12월까지 걸릴 것으로 보인다.

New COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations soar in Nevada

Fueled by continued growth in the spread of the delta variant, Nevada’s average daily number of new COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and positivity rate all have soared to their highest levels since February.

State health officials said Thursday they’re seeing signs of improvement in the effort to get more Nevadans vaccinated. But nearly half of the state’s eligible residents haven’t been fully vaccinated and at the current rate, it will take until December to reach the goal of 70% statewide.
