Alaska governor seeks $5 million for large farming project

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy proposed $5 million in funding for a farming project spanning 156 square miles (404 square kilometers), the largest the state has seen in decades.

State lawmakers last Saturday considered the proposal for the Nenana-Totchaket farming district, one of a series of agricultural and land-development projects proposed by Dunleavy’s amendments to the annual capital budget, the Anchorage Daily News reported Sunday. The budget funds construction and renovation projects across the state.

마이크 던리비 알래스카 주지사는 수십 년 만에 최대 규모인 156 평방 마일(404 평방 킬로미터)에 이르는 농업 프로젝트에 5백만 달러의 자금을 지원하겠다고 제안했다.

앵커리지 데일리 뉴스에 따르면 주 의회 의원들은 지난 토요일 던리비의 연간 자본 예산 수정안이 제안한 일련의 농업과 토지 개발 사업 중 하나인 네나나-토차케트 농업지구 사업을 고려했다고 보도했다. 그 예산은 주 전역에 걸쳐 건설과 개보수 사업에 자금을 대고 있다.
