German protesters decry virus restrictions

Hundreds of people demonstrated in downtown Duesseldorf Sunday against government coronavirus restrictions and in support of a host of other causes.

People waved signs with slogans like “end to panic, corona pandemic is a lie” and “corona rebels” as songs decrying coronavirus restrictions were played.

They chanted “free Julian Assange” along with one speaker, and formed a “W” -- symbolizing “we all” -- with their hands, which they raised over their heads as the theme to Chariots of Fire played.

No masks were to be seen, aside from on journalists covering the rally, and a few children mingled among the crowd.

일요일 뒤셀도르프 시내에서 수백명의 사람들이 정부의 코로나바이러스 거리두기 조치에 반대와 더불어 주최자의 다른 요구를 지지하는 시위를 벌였다.

코로나바이러스 거리두기 해제를 요구하는 노래가 흘러나오자 사람들은 "공황은 끝났다, 코로나 대유행은 거짓말" "코로나 반군" 등의 구호가 적힌 팻말을 흔들었다.

그들은 한 명의 연사와 함께 "줄리안 어산지 석방"을 외쳤고, 손으로 "우리 모두"를 상징하는 "W"를 만들었는데, 이 W를 ‘theme to Chariots’의 주제곡이 울릴 때 자신들의 머리 위로 치켜들었다.

집회를 취재하는 기자들 외에는 어떤 마스크 착용자가 보이지 않았고, 몇 명의 아이들도 군중들 사이에 섞여 있었다.
