1 dead in Portland after Trump supporters, protesters clash

One person was shot and killed in Portland, Oregon, as a large caravan of President Donald Trump supporters and Black Lives Matter protesters clashed in the streets of the city that has become a flashpoint in the national unrest since George Floyd was killed.

It wasn’t clear if the shooting late Saturday was linked to fights that broke out as a caravan of about 600 vehicles was confronted by counterdemonstrators in the city’s downtown.

Police said the caravan had left the area around 8:30 p.m., and officers heard gunshots around 15 minutes later . Officers arrived at the shooting scene “within a minute,” police said, but the man who was shot did not survive.

조지 플로이드 피살 이후 일촉즉발 상황이 된 오리건주 포클랜드 도시 거리에서 도널드 트럼프 대통령 지지자들과 Black Lives Matter 시위대가 충돌하면서 한 명이 총에 맞아 숨졌다.

토요일 오후 발생한 총격 사건은 시내에서 600여 대의 이동식 주택 차량 행렬이 반대 시위자들과 대치하면서 벌어진 싸움과 관련이 있는지는 분명치 않았다.

경찰에 따르면 이동식 주택 차량은 오후 8시 30분경 이곳을 떠났으며, 15분 후 경찰관들이 총소리를 들었다. 경찰은 1분 안에 총격 현장에 도착했으나 총에 맞은 남성은 살아남지 못했다고 하였다.
